Walking Football: Sports offer for people aged 50 and over
New study from Portugal Football Observatory presents Walking Football, a modified version of football for people aged 50 and over.

The advantages and benefits of Walking Football, a sport that is growing rapidly in Portugal and around the world, are evident in the latest study by the Portugal Football Observatory, of the Portuguese Football Federation.

Walking Football, a game designed for people aged 50 and over who enjoy playing football but whose skills and physical abilities no longer allow them to meet the demands of a traditional match, is played with very specific rules in a safe and recreational context. It promotes the improvement of physical fitness, health status, physical and mental well-being, and quality of life of the player.

This study aims to introduce the sport of Walking Football and to present some of the key findings from the scientific literature that demonstrate the numerous benefits that participating in this activity can bring to the players.

The study found that Walking Football practitioners experience numerous benefits, including improved physical fitness, health, well-being, and quality of life. Players also value the team spirit, social interaction, and fun and enjoyment of the practice.
